Participant Instructions – 10.27.2018
Race Day Registration will be available for $90 (cash or check) beginning at 5:30a.
Packet Pickup: Will begin at 5:45am on Race Day at the Mable House (5239 Floyd Rd SW, Mableton, GA 30126). Please bring a copy of your ID to pickup your number; no numbers may be picked up without identification. You may not pick up someone else’s number. Numbers may not be transferred to non-registered participants on race day. Half Marathon Packet Pickup is separate from Marathon. Half Marathon numbers will be BLACK. Marathon numbers will be RED.
Parking: Ample parking available at the Mable House Amphitheater. Unofficial parking available in the Floyd Middle School Lot – do not park in front of the school or in the gym lots. Do not park at the Post Office, Library, Silver Comet Bike Depot, on the street, or at any businesses other than the ones listed above. You WILL be towed. There is NO parking at the Finish Line.
Things Not Allowed: Strollers, pets, and headphones/earbuds are not allowed on the race course. Headphones/earbuds use is a safety concern, against USATF Rules & Regulations, and will not be tolerated. The trail is not closed during the race, so please be aware of cyclists, pedestrians, and other athletes on the trail! Participants also must be able to hear police and officials instructions.
Start Line: Half and Full Marathons begin together at the Mable House Amphitheater: 5239 Floyd Rd SW, Mableton, GA 30126. The race begins at 7:45am. Dj will announce line up. Pace signs will be held up, however, pacer groups are not set up for either race. Please note: If you show up late, no one will be at the Mable House, we will have gone to the finish line.
Timing: Runners will be given a timing chip with their number on race day. You will cross a start mat and a finish line mat that will record the time. Gun time and chip time may differ slightly.
Time Limit: Half Marathoners must meet the 5.5 hour time limit of the Full Marathon. This is strictly enforced.
Race Officials/Police: Race official and police instructions must be followed. Police are at cross roads, but we ask participants to be aware of traffic. If police request runners/walkers to move to the sidewalk, you must move. Not following police instruction will result in removal from the race. Traffic can only be held for so long at the beginning of the race.
Bag Check: Not available for Half Marathon participants.
T-Shirts/Medals: Medals will be given to all participants upon completion of the race. T-shirts will be at finish line set up, available to pickup based on race number size. Shirts are first come, first serve. Color and not guaranteed.
Course/Water Stop Map: The course map and elevation profile can be found here: Half Marathon Running Route. Marathon and Half Marathon aid stations are on different tables!! Marathon Aid Stations are ONLY for Full Marathoners.
Half Marathon Turn Around: Half Marathoners will go around the clearly marked coned area to turn around.
Finish Line/Post-Race Set Up: Sponsors and vendors will be set up at the finish line, in the lot of the Silver Comet Bike Depot. T-shirts and awards will be given out at the finish line.
Shuttles: Shuttles will run from the finish to start line once runners have finished. The shuttle will only leave when FULL. Do not ask the bus drivers to leave early. There will be two available shuttles for the 2017 race.
Awards: Announced once enough results are gathered. Will be announced by Dj.

Halloween Costumes: There will be a costume contest! Costumes encouraged!
Spectators: Spectators may park at the Mable House Amphitheater. A shuttle will be available to the finish line and back after the race.
Not Able to Run: Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are unable to attend the race. Refunds will not be given.
Ghost Runner: This option is for runners who are unable to attend the Silver Comet Full Marathon. This option has been used by military units and out of state runners. Ghost runners will have their t-shirt and medal mailed to them after the race is over. Signing up as a ghost runner does not allow you to run the distance on the Silver Comet Trail during the race on October 28th, 2017. Donations: Silver Comet Races and Get Fit Atlanta collect gently used running clothes, shoes, and accessories, to support the local high school athletic programs. A donation bin will be set up before the race. Thank you! Old race shirts will be available for $5 each at the finish line also!
